Oil and Water

So who’s bright idea was it to start drilling for oil in the ocean anyway? It’s funny how there is a plethora of places left on LAND (e.g. Alaska) to harvest oil, but we still continue to drill in the ocean! Didn’t somebody along the way stop and think “Hey…what kind of repercussions will we have if something goes wrong…you know…since we are drilling a mile under the ocean’s water surface?” Obviously not. Yes, oil spills on land are tragic, but at least they can be contained to some degree. Isn’t that one of the first things you learn growing up – oil and water don’t mix!
